Mazda MAZDA6

Perhaps the sleeper of the bunch, the Mazda6 is nonetheless a compelling choice, especially for those looking for a more stylish and sporty sedan. Like almost every other Mazda we’ve driven, the Mazda6 shines in the handling department. The suspension is perfectly balanced, the chassis nice and stiff, and steering response is exceptional for a car this large. Buyers who value the driving experience above all else needn’t look much farther.

Redesigned in 2009, the current Mazda6 is substantially larger than the car it replaced. Interior room is excellent and the trunk is truly cavernous. The exterior of the MAZDA6 was also thoroughly redesigned, and although a bit of a mash-up of other Mazda designs, the result actually works. The overall look is sleek and sporty, but also distinctive and mature. Although likely to be overlooked by car buyers, the Mazda6 is a reminder that adding some style and zoom-zoom to basic transportation is never a bad thing.

Editor’s note: The rating number for the Chevy Malibu is misleading because it includes all the model years that were reviewed by users. The archaic system that is in place cannot just give a rating for a specific model year or generation of car. That feature will be in the next version of CarReview.
