Sport & Comfort Packages On The Way For Audi A8

Audi Press and News

Audi A8 Sport Plus

I have a bit of a confession to make. Even though I’m a dyed-in-the-wool sports car guy, a guy that lives by Colin Chapman’s axiom of “To go fast, add lightness”, I’ve got a bit of a soft spot for big, fast, high tech sedans. Did I mention them being fast was a good thing. Take Audi’s A8 for example. What a brute, what a road trip car. Imagine blasting across the country in one of those, or even better, in an S8.

Yes, it would be fun, if not exactly as sporting as doing it an Enzo. Audi, it would seem, understands this paradox, and has decided to off some rather nice tuning bits for it’s top of the line luxo-sedan.

There are two new special packages, Comfort Plus and Sport Plus, but since I’m a sorts car guy, and the A8 is already lux enough, let’s just look at the sport goodies. Only available in new Panther Black crystal effect paint, the Sport Plus package gets you such niceties as 20-inch “S design” alloy wheels in a dark steel finish, “adaptive light” with LED daytime running lights, sports seats in Goa beige Valcona leather and heated front seats. You like leather you say? Well good, because the center console, doors and lower dashboard are trimmed in black Fine Nappa leather. The Sport Plus style package for the A8 costs between €2,100 and €9,600, depending on what engine you go with on your new A8.

Yes, that’s not exactly chump change, but as Graham Hill said, “Speed equals money sir, how fast would you care to go.”
