Hell has frozen over. Pigs are flying. Cats are shackin’ up with dogs to make weird cross-species monstrosities. Gran Turismo 5 finally has an official, won’t-be-delayed-again release date. And surprisingly, it’s very very soon. Gran Turismo 5 will release on November 24, 2010.
Following numerous delays, the fifth installment of the award-winning franchise will hit stores just in time for the holiday season. The game will feature more than 1,000 in-game vehicles, including the likes of the Lexus LFA, the Lamborghini Murciélago LP 670-4 SuperVeloce and the McLaren MP4-12C. Tracks include classic favorites such as Autumn Ring, Grand Valley Speedway and Deep Forest Raceway and real-life circuits such as Laguna Seca and the Nürburgring.
Sony’s fifth entry in its flagship racing series includes over one thousand licensed cars that, for the first time in the franchise, will show real-time damage based on the point of impact and rate of speed. Other visual enhancements include smoke from tires, sparks from rollovers, and the gradual accumulation of dirt. The vehicle physics engine introduced in Gran Turismo 5: Prologue has been replaced with a revamped model to offer more realism. Play modes include the GT Career Mode, Championship Races, Arcade Mode, and License Tests, with a progression system that lets you earn credits to further customize your ride(s).

Looks like it’s out!!! Consesus is it’s a near perfect simulator. But then on the gaming side, it has a lot of holes like the menus, interface, damage model.
And the bad side is still unfinished 200 out of the 1000 cars are awesome. The other 800 are half ass. The lines and details are incomplete. You can’t even get in the car to drive these 800 cars since there’s no interior. You have to use the outside view. How does that make sense if you don’t drive that way in this game??
