Well, if you believe the press release, it would seem so. The headline reads: “Limited Edition Infiniti G37 Convertible Premier to be sold through Bloomingdale’s”.
Wha? OK, I guess that’s not all that way out or anything, Neiman-Marcus sells limited edition BMWs now and again, and hey, it IS a version of car that at best can be described as being a boulevardier.
An Infiniti G37 convertible, limited edition or not, is not the kind of car you’re going to take out for a blast up the coast highway some early Sunday morning. No, this is the kind of car that you and your 3rd (maybe 4th) trophy wife take out for for that charity benefit for Sir Denis Eton-Hogg’s Hoggwood: Summer Camp For Pale Young Boys.
Anyway, Inifiniti is only making 200 copies of this version, and underneath it’s pretty much the same old, same old … a 3.7-liter V6 rated at 328 hp. All the new stuff is in the C & C area: dark Platinum Graphite paint over Monaco Red leather upholstery and special 19-inch wheels plus a new grille. You also get a touchscreen nav and Bose Open Air sound system (whatever the hell that is).
The Bloomingdale’s Premiere model hits the stores on November 10th, but pricing has yet to be set. Which means it will probably be pricey.
Next up, the K-Mart Limited Edition AMC Pacer.
