Porsche announced the 911 Black Edition that will be available as a limited edition of only 1,911 cars, of which approximately 25% are U.S bound, in Carrera Coupe and Cabriolet trims.
The Black Edition features a 3.6-liter flat-six pot, 345-horsepower engine and a six-speed manual transmission with an optional PDK dual-clutch seven-speed transmission.
Other features include a plain black paint job with optional Basalt Black metallic, black interior leather, black instrument cluster, black painted four-piston aluminum monobloc brake calipers, a black cloth electric folding hood on the Cabriolet, 19-inch 911 Turbo II alloy wheels, a Bose premium surround sound system with 13 speakers in the Carrera and 12 in the Cabriolet, a GPS navigation system, Black Edition plaques on the doors and glove compartment, parking assistant, cruise control, and a rain sensor.
The Porsche 911 Black Edition will be available Spring 2011 with pricing starting at $82,250 for the Coupe and $92,250 for the Cabrio. Sport Chrono Plus package, Porsche Ceramic Composite Brakes (PCCB) and Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) upgrade packages will also be available.
