Honda Civic Overview

2009 Honda Civic LX-S

The 2009 Honda Civic receives new exterior styling and available technology now includes Bluetooth HandsFreeLink and USB audio interface. Also for 2009, Vehicle Stability Assist is standard equipment on Civic EX-L. The Honda Civic is available in coupe and sedan versions. Power is provided from a variety of options: normally aspirated 4-cylinder, hybrid, or compressed natural gas engines.

Looks like a Civic, drives a Civic, but at 50 mpg the Civic Hybrid achieves significantly better gas mileage than a regular Civic. Honda’s second generation Civic Hybrid offers improved city fuel economy, and an incredibly better body design. And, despite some complaints over mileage, most Civic Hybrid owners are very happy with the gas mileage of their hybrid Civics.

The first generation Civic hybrid cars could not function on electric power at low speeds. Honda has resolved that problem AND gave the Civic Hybrid a minor boost in power. First generation Civic hybrids had an output of 85 horsepower with fuel economy estimated at 20 – 48 city/30 – 51 highway. The second generation Civic Hybrid now has an output of 93 HP total with fuel economy estimated at 49 city/51 highway. The bottom line is that the Civic Hybrid significantly reduces fuel consumption with a small gain in fuel economy and power over the previous generation Civic Hybrid.

The Si has a very modern looking interior, with flowing lines and an intelligent design. The instruments are easily visible behind a three spoke steering wheel and the controls are easy to understand and use.”
