2011 Infiniti G37 Sport Review – A coupe joins the league of extraordinary gentlemen

The G37 accomplishes the goal of carrying rear seat passengers in a 2+2 configuration. When Nissan tried that trick with the Z car, they ended up with an ungainly contraption that was neither sports car nor family car. In both appearance and functionality, the G37 succeeds where the erstwhile 2+2 Z never did. If you have a pair of kids, the G37S’ back seat will transport them in relative comfort. It will even pinch hit for adults needing short hops. Although the trunk of the G37 is limited in size, at least you can open it by pressing the convenient button affixed to your key fob.

Other such conveniences abound throughout the Infiniti’s cockpit. The standard 5 x 8 inch navigation screen, located high on the central dash stack, also functions as a radio tuning and HVAC nexus. A sizeable standard sunroof brightens the all black interior. Nicely embroidered “Infiniti G37” floor mats, Infiniti logo headrest monikers, and white stitched black seats add to the cabin’s understated elegance. The centrally located oval analog clock is a welcome holdover from the earliest days of the Infiniti Q45.
If you plan on carrying 2, or 2+2, love to drive aggressively and fast, and dislike the boy racer look of the 370Z, then the Infiniti Sport Coupe is just the right answer for your needs. At a base price of $42,400, it is relatively affordable, returns decent fuel mileage, and goes like stink.
