The Amgen Tour of California will be hitting our streets starting Sunday, May 16 and with the Tour comes a full entourage of support vehicles that provide support for the race and teams. Nissan announced today that it will serve as the official vehicle of the Amgen Tour of California. In addition to the more than 40 support vehicles provided for this week-long event, Nissan is also the official team car for Team Radio Shack – the elite cycling team led by seven-time Tour de France winner Lance Armstrong and three-time defending Amgen Tour of California champion Levi Leipheimer.
The largest cycling event in America, the 2010 Amgen Tour of California is a Tour de France-style cycling road race, presented by AEG, that challenges the world’s top professional cycling teams to compete along a demanding course from May 16-23. The world-class roster of teams and cyclists includes 16 internationally sanctioned teams comprised of 127 riders from 23 countries.
