The Nissan FORUM, an exploratory design concept developed by Nissan Design America, Inc. (NDA), represents the next revolution in family transportation.
Answering the challenge of making family passenger vehicles more appealing to both drivers and passengers, FORUM offers a wide array of innovative ideas – from its trackless sliding side doors and elimination of traditional B-pillars, to an interior featuring a multi-position swiveling 2nd row seat to next-generation entertainment and family communications technology.
A Suite of Technological Innovations. Nissan North America’s advanced minivan design study, the Nissan FORUM Concept, offers an array of innovative family communications systems – including an advanced Bose Media System with proximity sensor-based information controller, a one-button audio muting system, 2nd and 3rd row monitoring cameras, and individual seat-mounted speakers for every row. Created at Nissan Design America in La Jolla, Calif. and Farmington Hills, Mich., the FORUM Concept makes its public debut at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January.
A FORUM For Family Gatherings. The interior of the new Nissan FORUM Concept, which makes its public debut at the 2008 North American International Auto Show in Detroit in January, features a front driver’s zone and rear kids’ zone – brought together into one unified family space through innovative technology. FORUM’s interior also features “Turntable Seating,” a unique 2nd row seat that can rotate 90 degrees to either side or 180 degrees to face the three-passenger 3rd row seat. FORUM also includes individual audio/entertainment systems with wireless monitors and a console-mounted microwave oven.
