Oh purrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr … whether I like it or not, as an Italian American, I think I’m probably obligated to like this car. Luckily, I like it regardless. Quite the stunner, the Alfa Romeo 8C Competizione, huh?
Turn out that the lucky, er, few that were able to come up with the scratch and also get in at the head of the line have been taking delivery of their 8C Competiziones here in the U.S. of A. The first one going to none other than that Glickenhaus chap; you know, the fellow that got Ferrari to build him a custom one off Enzo with a body sort of like the P3/4 Le Mans racers. Must be nice, huh?
According to AutoBlog, the 8C Competiziones made quite the impression when it pulled up to park in Irvine, California. “The car drew a huge crowd, who universally praised it for its voluptuous good looks and gorgeous red paint job.” Yeah, I bet.
I believe that this is running the same Ferrari sourced V8 mill used in Mazers, as well as ferrari’s semi-auto gearbox, so the whole assemblage should get down La Strada plenty quick.
And look good doing it … what’s not to like?
