Have you had many a sleepless night wondering if it’s possible to out-do the Hummer? If so, than look no further than the RussoBaltique, a Russian SUV that aims to be “The World’s Most Expensive SUV”. Or to give it its proper appellation the “Dartz Prombron Monaco Red Diamond Edition SUV from Russia’s RussoBaltique”. I would take it that RussoBaltique is some sort of manufacturer I’ve never heard of and that this, er model has the rather daunting name of ” Dartz Prombron Monaco Red Diamond Edition SUV”. Rolls off the tongue, don’t it?

Well, it won’t roll off your checkbook that easy either, nor will you be able to scrub the options and materials list out of your mind any time soon.

Pros

  • 355 hp EcoBoost engine with a power band wider than the Grand Canyon
  • Active Park Assist feature that works 10x better than Toyota/Lexus
  • More standard luxury features than its closest competitors
  • A ride quieter than Tibetan Buddhist Monastery
  • No longer using switches and knobs from the Ford-Mercury parts bin

Cons

  • Oversize split-bow grill is more ugly than intimidating
  • Supposed to be smaller than a Navigator, but still really large

Pros

  • Better fuel economy than most V6 engines in its class
  • Comfortable ride and responsive handling makes you forget that you’re driving a truck
  • Intelligent shift patterns from the 5-speed gearbox account for smooth performance

Cons

  • Interior is overdue for a makeover
  • Third rowing seating suitable only for munchkins, yoga masters, or inflicting torture upon backseat drivers who need a timeout

2009 Mercury Mariner - the Hybrid SUV that can (and does) impress!

Pros:

  • Really impressive (and decent) acceleration at speed
  • Mileage, mileage, mileage
  • Didn’t have to open the entire tailgate to get into the back of the vehicle
  • Continuously variable transmission
  • XM Satellite Radio and built-in Bluetooth

Cons:

  • Ack, the grill - not my thing
  • Engine takes an inordinate amount of time to reach “idle” after starting the car
  • The seats were pretty flimsy

2007 Lincoln MKX Video Review

New for 2008
After debuting for the 2008 model year, the 2008 Lincoln MKX receives a number of standard features including heated and cooled front seats, power lumbar driver and front passenger seats, easy entry driver’s seat, memory driver’s seat and side mirrors, auto-dimming driver’s side mirror, a Reverse Sensing System, Sync communications and entertainment system, THX II-certified audio system and SIRIUS Satellite Radio. A new Limited Edition is available that features a variety of colors, interior accents, chrome exterior door handles, unique badging and 20-inch chrome-clad wheels. The 20-inch wheels are also optional for the regular MKX.
