Ford reported sale of Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles were down 14% compared to one year ago. I can guess that the state of the economy and high fuel prices are the primary reasons why sales of trucks and SUVs are declining rapidly. Good timing on GM’s part with getting their 2-mode hybrid system built into their biggest gas-guzzlers (Chevy Tahoe and GMC Yukon) early this year. Add a strong V6 engine to the equation and the result is a well-rounded vehicle that works well for a variety of different situations. For the family guy that doesn’t want to give up his “cool” image by driving a minivan, a crossover SUV could be the right solution.

• Spacious rear seat room big enough for tall passengers

• Fold flat front seat not available in SE model
• Minor niggles with fit and finish
