Put some super winter tires on some steel rims for winter save your summer setups. This does a few things you probably can roatate them to save you longterm or at most cost the same as a new set of low profiles.
Nevermind the FACT you get WAY better traction with real winter tires. Not some all season BS…..
So when you buy the car insist on some guey summer tires hit tire rack up for some winter change overs.

I need an economical, yet roomy vehicle. The Focus hatchback is a bit too youthful for me; I’m not in the “tuner” generation. And the sedan doesn’t have quite enough cargo capacity. Also, Ford–as well as all other auto manufacturers–need to get their act together when it comes to wheel/tire offerings. Low-profile tires on a small car are an invitation for trouble in the winter. I hate the fact that to get the Focus SEL sedan I am forced to take 16-inch wheels and wide tires. Putting style ahead of function is dangerous, especially in the snow belt.
